A total of sixty student athletes received their bachelor degrees and one earned his master of science in accounting at Siena College's 74th Commencement ceremony Sunday at the Times Union Center.
"Siena's student athletes continue to maintain a high standard of graduating college on time and with significant accolades," said Lori Jancik, Director of Student Athlete Engagement. "We graduated an honors fellow, several who will attend med school, and one who participated but has a semester of her MBA under her belt. Many have jobs lined up. We always seem to have one or two who, rather than use their extra year of eligibility to ease up academically, finish their master's degree (Michael Scott, Men's Lacrosse, Accounting)."
Women's lacrosse's Casey Irwin was named a Siena College Honors Fellow and men's soccer's Falko Friedrichs earned The Center for Global Financial Studies Award. Cross Country's Devin Bennett (French) and Ryan Egan (Actuarial Science), swimming's Dana Tricarico (Environmental Studies) and Taylor Akana (Marketing) were major field award winners for possessing the highest GPA of any graduate in their respective field of study.
Additionally, 26 Saints were inducted into various Siena College Honors Societies.
