Melissa Peach has been hired as the new compliance coordinator at Siena College. Peach had been serving as an intern in the compliance office since September.
"I am pleased to have someone as hardworking and dedicated as Melissa to serve as our compliance coordinator," associate athletic director Joyce Eggleston said. "Her experience this past year in our department has been instrumental in expanding her knowledge of the varied responsibilities of an athletic department compliance officer."
Peach will handle the day-to-day operations of Siena's athletic compliance office. She is responsible for monitoring NCAA compliance as it pertains to recruiting activities, practice and playing seasons, initial and continuing eligibility of student athletes, camps and clinics, and promotions and extra benefit legislation.
Peach will also develop and conduct rules education programs for coaches, student athletes, and other constituents. She will assist with the investigation and reporting of any NCAA rules violations. Her duties include maintaining Siena and NCAA compliance databases.
Peach is a 2007 graduate of SUNY Brockport. She obtained a master's degree in athletic administration/sports management from Indiana in 2009 where she served as student receptionist/assistant for the athletic director.
"I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve as compliance coordinator at Siena College," Peach said. "It is a privilege to be part of an institution with such a high standard for academic and athletic excellence. I look forward to working with all of the great coaches, student athletes and administrators."
