As we begin 2017, we take a look back at the Top-10 Siena Athletics Moments of 2016. We continue our countdown today with Moment #3.

The Moment
May 28 - Siena Baseball staved off elimination twice, ousting No. 6 seed and Tournament host Manhattan and eliminating champion Canisius to advance to the MAAC Championship Series for the fourth straight year and fifth time in six seasons.

After dropping their Tournament opener, the Saints faced the daunting task of needing to come out of the losers' bracket and win four straight to capture a MAAC Championship. On a rainy day in Fiskill and with their backs against the wall, Siena got halfway to their goal in impressive fashion.

Following a nearly two-hour rain delay, Siena began its comeback bid by routing the upstart Jaspers 15-4. The Saints did their damage early, scoring all 15 of their runs over the first four innings.

Siena had little time to savor the victory, as they had to turn right back around and battle their arch rival and defending MAAC Champion Canisius in the nightcap. After winning with offensive firepower earlier in the day, the Saints relied on clutch pitching performances in the evening in a game that lasted almost to midnight. Chris Amorosi pitched the game of his career, hurling 7.2 shutout innings to earn the win, while Bryan Goossens came out of the pen to record his second, multiple-inning save of the day in the 5-0 triumph.
